The Challhuaco Valley, located about 20 km from Bariloche, is a National Reserve and home to the Challhuaco frog, an endemic amphibian. The hike does not involve any technical difficulties, but it requires good physical fitness and a willingness to walk. We pick you up at your meeting point. Once the group is complete, we travel approximately 20 km to the Challhuaco Valley. The first part of the ascent passes through a lenga forest, reaching approximately 1,600 meters above sea level. The landscape then changes to the high-Andean steppe, with small plants adapted to the soil conditions. The trail to the summit takes around 3 hours. There, we have lunch and rest before beginning the return journey. The descent is more dynamic and shorter, passing by Laguna Verde. Upon reaching the valley, we board the vehicles and return to the city.
Enjoy the contrasts between the lenga forest and the high-Andean steppe, with panoramic views from the summit of Cerro Challhuaco.
